The Annual GOWA Excellence In Craft Awards competition is for work published in the 2023 calendar year. The EIC Awards recognize outstanding professionalism and talent in outdoor journalism.
Award categories include: Feature articles, Newspaper columns, Conservation stories, Books, Photography, Illustration, Radio and Television.
Members submit their best works from the previous calendar year, and they are judged by peers from an outdoor writers association in another state. Only active GOWA members are allowed to submit entries for the EIC competition.
Details on the contest and submission information is emailed to the membership around mid-December with entry deadline around the end of January.
Awards, along with a lot of pomp and circumstance, are presented at the Annual Conference each spring.
